My apologies for the heartbreak, then, although I am pleased that you enjoyed it.

And I shall certainly take that under advisement! I do have one or two fics in this 'verse in varying stages of completion. I mean, HG Wells as almost imperceptible, launching a mad scientist ~epic bromance~ with Claudia wherein they dick around with time travel? How could I resist?

It's...It's raining on my face.

Your characters are everything I wish this fandom could and would write. HG is appropriately badass without being overly maudlin or cynical or Victorian, Myka is angry and sad and in love (without being overly maudlin) and CLAUDIA OH CLAUDIA LET ME GIVE YOU A HUG. Pete! Leena! Artie! The Regents! -shakes fist-

In short, this is where I wish the show would go. I just...I love this fic. I'd quote my favorite bits, but that would mean quoting the whole fic back at you, especially HG's little witticisms, and I...yeah. This is nothing short of amazing.

Also: you gave Leena depth in this fic. I...that is nothing short of amazing, given what the show's done with her.

Aww, shucks. I'm very touched, thank you. And I'm particularly glad that you liked my Leena - as much as I love the show, I don't think the writers use Leena very well. I do think that, at the very least, there are some Unfortunate Implications in the way that both Leena and Mrs Frederic, the only PoC in the main cast, have quite marginal roles in the narrative. But also, she's just wonderful, and I have a ridiculous amount of headcanon for her, and I really wanted to see her have that conversation with Helena, about MacPherson and the debronzing and the Pearl, and it just never came. I suppose that's what fandom's for.

Oh man. I had itty bitty tears leaking out of the corners of my eyes pretty much the entire time I was reading this and all through the 'go big or go home' scene and the last scene they finally exploded into a giant crescendo of creys because it was all so beautiful and heartbreaking. I love this to pieces, and it hurts.

(Seconding the love for your Leena. Here's hoping she gets utilized more in S4.)

Oh, dear. I do apologise for the hurting part, but I am immensely gratified to hear that you love it all the same. Though in my defence, any romance in which one partner starts off dead and doesn't Get Better is probably not destined for eternal bliss. XD

(Fingers crossed, yes, I would love some more Leena! She's actually one of my favourite characters, but we've seen very little of her, and it's reaching the point where I don't know if I like the character or if I just like the headcanon I have invented for the character.)

Aw dang, I was hoping there was a fix it all for Helena. Still this is very good and entertaining. My personal thoughts are that Helena will be apart of the Warehouse, she can appear etc within it and still be there to help. This is just as good. Very nice story.

I think Helena will certainly be a part of the Warehouse team and might even help - for a given value of help. But there would definitely be shenanigans- I mean, something just gave HG Wells the power to walk through walls and avoid being noticed by almost everybody. This cannot lead to anywhere but shenanigans.

But, yes, thank you!

I wanted it to be a fix-it fix-it fic, and it kept going
This actually did begin life as a (mostly) fix-it, but something wasn't working. It wasn't until I realised that my Helena didn't need anyone to fix her - and certainly didn't need someone else to save her - that something clicked. Because she might be dead, but damn, that woman has an ego (and a near-total disregard for her own wellbeing, at least, in my head).

and Helena and Myka were so…them, angry (because oh my god, their fight)
(Heh, which one? XD They were not on the best of terms for a good long time.)
But yes, I don't see Myka as particularly forgiving, especially when it comes to Helena.

And Myka telling Helena to ~haunt~ her properly--god. Yes. Yes. Mmm. Myka is one of those people who needs certainty and definition, whereas Helena embraces multiplicity and fluidity and ambiguity, and a thousand and one other things I imagine Myka would call 'ways of avoiding actual honesty'. But Myka would have been able to deal with Helena as a vengeful, dangerous ghost far more ( ... )
