I finally got to see this last night & was absolutely blown away. It was incredible. According to Hubby, I pretty much squeeled with glee throughout the entire movie & he's probably right. I'm a bit of a closet Trekkie, especially when it comes to the original series (I've seen everything except the Enterprise series & read 90% of TOS books) & ( Read more... )

I've never been a Trekkie (or saw ANY episode) but everyone is gushing about this. I think maybe I'll see it this weekend.

You should! And tell me what you think afterwards. I think they designed the movie so both hardcore fans & newbies would all enjoy it. I can't speak for newbies but it was amazing.

I'll see it this weekend then!

I had a similar problem with Transformers. I had never watched it as a kid and never really knew what it was about (other than robots) so I had no desire to see it until a friend dragged me to it and it . . . wasn’t bad! So. . . here’s to not being confused, lol.

I know what you mean. I only saw Transformers becuase Hubby made me. That and I think the main actor (that young guy) is super talented & will really be going places someday. (speaking of, have you seen the commercials for the next one? It looks even more intense than the first!)

There's also the death of Vulcan & Amanda. Wow... That was so huge, I never thought it was really, truly going to happen. I was convinced until the last second that they'd figure out some way to stop it.
I was so there with you- in fact after it finished I was kind of dazed for a while thinking "I can't belive the did that and it worked!"
I loved loved loved it and will be seeing it again too!

Seriously - like two hours after the movie I was still thinking, "that really happened?! Really?!" but it really fits & I'm excited for the potential future stories.
