So, with my BS class (the computer one), I could, techinically, do NOTHING ELSE in the class and still swing a pretty solid C. I looked at the stuff due today and I really don't want to do the 2nd assignment, which wants me to print out 5 different instruction sheets, etc etc ( Read more... )

Well, if your paying for it - you should seek to get the most from your education. Employers ask for some really strange things sometimes, I have a friend who is an Access developer, and he just barely got a job working as a record keeper.

Of course, your milage may vary. :)

I am paying for the class, and it has done nothing but drive me mad and wish that I hadn't. I have no use for it and am only taking it as a requirement for the degree that I am no longer going after. Of course, I didn't need to have this class to learn what I was going to DO either!

I use a form of Access at Multnomah County, and it took me 15 minutes to learn what I was doing. The way this class it, you learn the most complicated and convoluted ways of doing simple tasks.

I am going to skip Access and go straight to PowerPoint. I don't have the time or the space to deal with Access right now.

Fair enough - just figured a potential counter-point would be helpful. I'll admit, from what I've seen - Access is pretty complicated.

PowerPoint can be a bit more fun, as it relies a bit more on the artistic flair of the user to arrange a pleasing presentation.

Oi. I've had classes like that and sometimes it really is just worth skipping out on work and taking a lower grade for the sake of sanity. *hugs*

I don't have to do another thing in this class and I will get a C and that is fine with me. I will do the PowerPoint stuff, and it will kick me up to a B, I think. :) If I score well.

Cool. PowerPoint is easy...or at least it usually is. God only knows what stupid convoluted shit she'll be asking you to do with it. So what made you change your mind about pursuing the medical transcriptionist degree/cert thing?

I can't be at work 5 days a week and still work a full time job. Full time job = life/food/etc.
