Researchers were the ones who did some experiments to know about the nature of vampires more, these were usually really cruel things, which IV and me, in my former life, refused to do, so we ran from them, risking our life. Fortunately, Ko-ki, one of the lovers, convinced Reno and Ryoga to let us live in the mansion with them. Lovers have always hated researchers, because they've been called them idiots who think only about sex. "No, actually not..." IV chuckled. "Talk about it with Reno when he comes to take you, ok? I think he would be happy if it was him who had to explain it to you."
The blonde vampire blushed and looked at Ko-ki.
"Yes, it's better to ask Reno." He nodded quickly.
"Ok, I will do that." I sighed, sat on the bed and looked through a window. The red leaves were still falling from the trees, completely covering the ground, which looked like a thick, soft rug now. If it was a ground floor, I'd just break a window and jump out of it, but it was too high and I could break something, so I had to stay here a little bit longer and agree to their conditions. I missed my family, though... Were they sad, because I didn't come back? I was sure they cried a lot, but I couldn't even contact them and tell where I am.
When we were sitting there, I asked IV and Ko-ki about a few things. There were three clans of vampires: researchers, lover and warriors. Researchers were the ones who did some experiments to know about the nature of vampires more, these were usually really cruel things, which IV and me, in my former life, refused to do, so we ran from them, risking our life. Fortunately, Ko-ki, one of the lovers, convinced Reno and Ryoga to let us live in the mansion with them. Lovers have always hated researchers, because they've been called them idiots who think only about sex. Well, Ko-ki told me it wasn't true, most of the lovers weren't that stupid, but they were thinking about sex all the time and I already knew they had to get the energy from drinking the semen of other vampires or humans... but the sperm of mortals gave them more power and it was more tasty. Lovers were also much stronger than researchers, so someone had to keep the stability in the vampire world. If any of lovers hurt researcher, they had to deal with warriors. They were some kind of neutral guardians, who didn't hate anyone. Both lovers and researchers were needed in the vampire world and if warriors didn't protect researchers, they would be probably killed by lovers. I asked Ko-ki why wouldn't they become sex slaves instead, but he just laughed and told me that most of researchers are terrible in bed and actually they sleep with those who they have feelings for or at least when they're attracted to them, unless they're forced to do it, but such acts usually ended up with trouble and warriors chasing the naughty lover.
After a few hours Reno came to the room. I immediately hid in the corner, because I was afraid of him, but he just crouched next to me, grabbed my hand and shoved something into it. I noticed it's a croissant.
"Why do you give me food?" I asked.
"Don't ask, just eat it." He sighed. "You need more energy, its level is too low, so you have to eat..."
I nodded and bit a part of the croissant. It was filled with chocolate. Its taste was a little bit strange, but it was good.
"So, you will go with me now." Reno grabbed my arms and pulled me upwards. Ko-ki and Ivu didn't even react, they were probably too scared to protest. The last thing I could remember were his thighs, I couldn't stop looking at them...
"Let's go, Shin. If we don't run now, they will hurt us later. Ko-ki is waiting for us in front of the tomb."
I nodded, got up and started packing my things. I've spend so many years at this place and I had to leave it... When we went outside, I cast one, quick look at the stony, ancient building which was my home. I knew I will miss it, but it was the only thing me and Ivu could do.
"Where are we going?" I asked the grinning, pink haired brat who grabbed mine and Ivu's hands, leading us into the unknown direction.
"To the place I live in. That's not a paradise, but it's much better than this tomb. I already talked to Reno and Ryoga about it, they agreed to let you two stay for a few days and later... we will just figure something out!" Ko-ki said happily and grabbed my bottom.
"What are you doing?!" I gasped in surprise.
"Sorry, I just had to do it, you're really hot... Are you sure you're a researcher?"
"Yes, we both are." Ivu said and we got into the red, sports car.
Ko-ki sat on the driver's seat and turned the engine on. I still was in utter shock, because none of researchers tried to do such a thing. I sighed and started playing with colorful energy balls, trying to regenerate my powers, using all items from the car. Ko-ki had a terrible mess here...
"Don't worry, he's just a lover. All of them are like that... and don't suck all energy from this area, I need some too!" IV pouted and hit my arm playfully.
"Ok, do what you want, I'm going to sleep. All these things made me stressed and tired, I just hope they won't catch us later."
"Don't worry, they won't! I will protect you two!" Ko-ki said proudly and smiled.
"Better watch the road." I gave him an advice, before closing my eyes. Vampires don't need to sleep, we can regenerate our powers through sucking energy or blood, but sometimes we just have to stop thinking and rest a bit.
I woke up when the car stopped. Ivu's head was resting on my shoulder, it was so sweet... and his sleeping face was really cute.
"Ok, it's the end of our trip, you've been sleeping for all day and I had no one to talk to." Ko-ki pouted and got out of the car. He leaded us through the gate covered with a thick layer of dark green ivy. On the other side, there was a big garden, which looked... dead. I could see a small cemetery on my left and the hazy air was blocking our sight, but I just needed to concentrate more and my vision got better soon. Without these powers, I'd probably bump into something, because the fog was really hazy.
We followed Ko-ki inside and as soon as we entered the old mansion, two vampires approached us. I didn't like to be watched, but I had to endure this, it was better than being the object of experiments anyway.
"Took them to the basement... I don't want to look at researchers, it makes me disgusted, Ko-ki... and better get rid of them in a few days, I can't let these scums wandering around my house for too long." One of the vampires said.
"Why won't you let me to have fun with them, Reno? It's such a nice occasion and you know, warriors won't chase ME for doing anything to them..." The other told him.
"It will be no fun, I know what I'm talking about. All researchers are really bad in bed, they won't satisfy you for sure. You can only such the energy from them, but I advise you to take another human victim, instead of wasting your time with them."
I was so scared, that I couldn't say a single word. Lovers. They can protect us from other researchers, but we can't defend ourselves from them. If they let us to leave this house alive, I will kick Ivu's butt for asking Ko-ki for help.
"I will take them away from you, I'm really sorry, Reno. They won't disturb you."
"Ummm... Maybe let Ryoga take the blonde and I will talk to the other one, he's quite pretty. Don't worry, we won't hurt your friends in any way, they're only stupid researchers."
The vampire called Reno embraced my waist and led me somewhere... I didn't care about me, but I just didn't want to leave IV alone, he's always been my best friend!
"Please, don't let him hurt IV, this blonde guy... I'm worried about him..." I told Reno quietly, hoping he won't kill me for saying something.
"Are all researchers that scared when they aren't in the big group? You always call us idiots, so I don't care what happens to your friend."
"Why do you think we ran from them? We hate them too..." I sighed.
"Seriously, I don't think Ryoga will have too much fun, all researchers are too delicate, he will probably faint when he finishes sucking his blood. Your clan can suck energy from everything what is around you, even from the items, so I don't think it will be a problem." Suddenly he forced me to expose my neck and he bit me really hard. I screamed and hoped that me and IV will be able to run away from this place as soon as it's possible.
