me!!!

For somehow managing to lock myself out of my car with the keys in the ignition and the engine running. Go me!
At least I was bright enough to give Jon my spare a few months ago. So if anyone is in the Hollywood district right now....I'm sitting in front of Sally's Beauty Supply....filing my nails.

I hate auto-locks.

I've done that. More than once.

the first time was after I had killed my battery, gotten it jumped, and was driving around so it didn't die again. I stopped at the gas station to pick up cigarettes, and remembered not to turn off the engine to keep the battery going - but locked the door out of habit. At least I had cigarettes while I waited for my spare key to be brought to me.

the second time was when I went to get drug tested for a job. Of all the fun places to hang out waiting for a spare key, the drug testing lab is not high on my list. I was driving a big ol' Bonneville, and we got AAA to give me this plastic card with a plastic door key so I could keep it in my wallet and not have to wait for my motherinlaw to bring me the spare key again. I don't know if they have those for newer cars, but it's worth looking into.

You got stuck at a drug testing lab?? Oh that would suck!

Before now I can't remember the last time I've ever locked myself out.

Oh yes...it sucks royally. What made it all the more embarrasing is that the engine was running. double fail.

I can totally see myself doing that sort of thing, especially considering the number of times I've locked myself out of my various cars. Hope Jon was able to come rescue you soonish. Hugs!

He showed up after about 30 minutes, so I treated him to Baja Fresh for rescuing me. The restaurant was conveniently 40' away.
