Well actually, in the challenge post, I asked if Teen Wolf couldn't be considered if we removed Sterek and Stiles. Since sterek fandom has so little connection to the actual show Teen Wolf, and so does fanon stiles, that if you remove those, you're suddenly left ith a small fandom of actual Teen Wolf fans.
That sounds like a bad precedent, though, because there's fanon characteristics of most characters and removing characters from a fandom seems like a really bad idea. I could say the same thing about Xander's portrayal in a heck of a lot of Buffy fics. While I like the character on the show he doesn't work for me in most fics, especially slash ones. But that's just my opinion.
And how would you winnow out just one character? I mean, a lot of authors at AO3 list every character they put in a fic even if they barely make an appearance. Should Stiles be removed just because he's not portrayed canonically? Heck, Peter's the villain and I hardly ever write him like that! You could say the same thing about a lot of characters.
yeah, that's pretty much the reason why they refused the notion. Still, Teen Wolf really does become a small fandom, once you look for fics actually focused on characters other than Stiles.
Although I know there was some arguing about TW (see above), some people are just trolling by nominating stuff like Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean and things that won't get through in a million years. It happened last year too. HP noms are basically a tradition by this point.

The one I wasn't sure about was Grimm.It's a small fandom, but because of people who do half a dozen or more show crossovers and include Grimm (even if it's no more than a cameo) the number of fics might be slightly over a 1.000
Looking on AO3, I only get 628 results for Grimm that are in English, complete, and over 1000 words. So you're probably ok. (Unless I made a mistake!)
Edit: I made a mistake! Forgot that ff.net applies too. So there are 414 fics there... Yeah, looks like you're out of luck, although I believe if you can prove that a bunch of the fics on AO3 and ff.net are the same fics crossposted, you're in with a chance.

I really doubt the mods will go for this.
