What terrible floods in Queensland, northern NSW and now Victoria. It is unbelievable and will take a long time to recover, if at all. There are lots of Flood Relief events going on.

Those poor miners.

With no hyperbole I can hardly think of anything worse.

My heart goes out to their people and the community there.

Just listen to this. I heard it on the bus the other day and it's hauntingly beautiful and in a north-east English accent. Needless to say I have ordered two CDs. I hope they tour to Australia sometime.

and I hope all of you in the US had a lovely 4 July.

I should have posted this yesterday but it was a very strange day with the constant stream of news and video clips. I hadn't much time for his silly shenanigans, but the music was always there in the 70s and 80s, and those fantastic video clips set the bar for everyone else. What a bizarre and troubled life and death. RIP
