My cousins continue to have superhuman amounts of energy, fueled by eating more waffles than Batgirl, but they are asleep now, so it's time for a short comics post! Hahaha, for once I managed to type this up before it became novel-length.

Anybody reading the new X-Men? I hear it's good.

Hee. I don't mention them much on my LJ, since I tend to be much more invested in TV and books. But I'm pretty excited about this one. (Mostly, I read Daredevil, the occasional X-title, the occasional Bat-title, and a ton of graphic novels and non-superhero stuff, like Locke & Key.)

I am happy for more Jubilee, too. Is Jubilee and a baby as ridiculously cute as it sounds?

Right? Except according to DC, Bruce is canonically the coolest person not just in his own comic book or even his family of comic books, but IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE. I don't understand it. And they seem to think that "things that will make me like Batman more" include making Bruce be mean to all the characters I like more than him. ????

Yeah, it seems like they are really trying to make sure it's a good comic. I've been hearing really good things about the art especially.

Justice League! I saw that it was on Netflix, but I've had a Batman: The Animated Series DVD on my desk for, like, a month and not gotten around to watching it. :|

Hmm, maybe. I suppose I wasn't really thinking about Bruce, I was just thinking that it would be more fun to see Babs and Selina and Dick blowing off steam than to watch them stand next to Bruce while he rages around.

In general, I'm okay with Bruce being, like, emotionally repressed and kind of crabby, but I really don't like it when DC decides he should be horrible and borderline abusive. Which has been happening lately in Batman & Robin. :/

Giving already excessively energetic children that have already display a resistance to jet lag food that basically consists of easily broken down sugars and carbs sounds like an excellent idea XD

I liked X-Men #1 a lot: I thought it set up the characters, their roles on the team, and the plot very nicely.

Agree on Fearless Defenders: it was fine, but not particularly exciting or fun or anything. Needs more silliness!

LADY SUPERHEROES WITH TINY FANGIRLS ARE THE BEST. Also Jess is great, I could read about her following Carol around offering support and snarky commentary ALL DAY. <3

Glad you liked JiM! Sif is brilliant. Also, your Sif, Valkryrie and Kate Bishop vs the Chitauri idea is awesome.

Oh dear! It's hard not to read LJ's incompatibility with hearts as being...symbolic, somehow, isn't it? It just breaks so often and seems to like us so little? :P

It must be so awesome to be a little kid living in the same apartment building as Captain Marvel and having her make you her honorary sidekick. I wonder what Kit does when she grows up. And Jess following Carol around commenting on her life is way more entertaining than it has any right to be. :D

It is pretty cute! Also everything about it feels very true to what Jubilee's reactions would be in the situation she finds herself in, it made me very happy.

I hope Kit is inspired to do something amazing when she grows up. I kind of want her to be a pilot or a superhero like Carol, but I would also love to see that Carol has just inspired her to fight fiercely for whatever she wants from life. <3

Indeed! I think whatever Kit does, she will be awesome at it. :)
