Eee, thank you! I have now nabbed a bunch of #1s, and may back for more if there's a series I fall in love with. So far Shutter is fun, Trees is reeeeally intriguing, and Umbral did nothing for me.

Yay, I'm glad you found some things! I think I got the first issue of Shutter free during some promotion or other, I remember being vaguely interested but not enough to pay for more issues.

Yes, technically I got Shutter at the same time, but just now got around to reading it. >.> I think I'll probably wait to get the first trade from the library, though. Likewise Trees.

Does your library get a lot of indie comics? Ooh that reminds me I was going to check the new arrivals at my library. :D

i just read it and totally loved it! i'm so glad i decided to purchase it. that craft luci. she's definitely my fave so far. her takedown of the judge - er, the verbal one, i mean - was positively perfect. as a law student, i gasped with laughter.

Haha, yeah, the legal thing was pretty clever. Do you like law-themed comics generally? Like do you like She-Hulk or Daredevil or anything like that?

Velvet is highly entertaining and definitely pulls in some real life experience/ladyspies stuff from WWII (Nancy Wake, Christina Granville and Vera Atkins - at the least)

I didn't realize it was inspired by real women spies, that's really cool!
