True enough. I've heard this sentiment expressed before.
The fears are less related to Orwell's Big Brother and more directly related to Huxley's Brave New World, in which the population is sterile, procreation is all test tubes and artificial insemination, and the government controls all of it.
I always did like that book (said only half-jokingly). :- )
Yes, yes, a million times yes. If I were in charge that'd be the first thing that I do. Many (probably most) people in this country should not be breeding. But it seems like the less intelligent and more unfit a person is to be a parent, the more kids they have.
Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? If not, rent it. It should be in with the new releases. I think it's written and directed by Mike Judge. It's basically illustrates what the world will look like in the future if stupid people keep breeding at this rate and intelligent people stop breeding. It's hilarious.
For the record; I love reading everything that you write. You've probably read books by "Augusten Burroughs", but in case you haven't I think that you would LOVE his books.
Well thank you. The only one I've had a chance to read is his memoir, Running With Scissors. I loved it. Any other ones you've read that you recommend in particular?
