I really liked this peice!! Your Damon voice is spot on and I like the fact that it ends on a slightly optimistic note... great stuff :)

Thank you! Damon's voice is a difficult one to capture, I think, so hearing that you think I got it right makes me very happy. :) And yeah, there is a very small glimmer of hope at the end there.

I absolutely loved this piece. His outburst I think is one of my favorite pieces of fanfic I've ever read :D The voice you've written for Damon was just spot on, whatever you usually think of writing dialogue.

He's encroaching on Stefan-land

I love the way your write him. Really well done, entirely believable, suspenseful, angsty and moody (how Damon!). I've always thought stories that have love declarations must come across sappy, but it really wasn't at all here, and I like her reaction to it.

Everyone's saying I really captured Damon and I'll admit, I'm shocked. LoL. He's not an easy character to write because his voice is so distinctive. I don't know how the TVD writers manage it every week. LoL.

And yeah, it's kind of a darker love-confession, but I think it really works for Damon. He's not Stefan. In my mind, Stefan is the romancer, Damon, the seducer. They definitely play on the light and dark of romance.

Considering how long Damon's been around and what he's been through, especially recently, I can imagine he'd be experiencing a certain weariness. I know I would be if I were him, and it just fits so well with the piece. :)

I wish I could take credit, though. I really got the sense that Damon was steering the story and I was kind of just along for the ride. LoL. But I don't blame him for needing to get some stuff off his chest. ;)
