This was really pretty. I'm glad you let Damon get angry and carried it from there. I especially like how it doesn't come off as forced - so natural. And Damon hating that porch made me laugh out loud.

Great piece :)

I think Damon just really needed to get angry. Not angry enough to snap, a la 2x01, but enough to get all this out in the open.

LoL. If I were Damon I would loathe that porch. LoL. Nothing good ever happens to him on it. So unfair. ;)

So well-written, so in character, it's insane how amazingly you captured both of them. I can imagine this scene so easily. Great job! :)

I'm still astounded everyone thinks I captured Damon's character. LoL. He's not an easy voice to get right, in my opinion, because he's just so distinct. But while I was writing, it felt like he was really steering the ship and I was just along for the ride, so maybe that had something to do with it. LoL.

You wrote so true to Damon and Elena here. It really strikes a chord with me how spot-on Damon is here about him still being Elena's friend even if she's not his. I love this unflinching honesty with Damon and how he puts himself on the line to tell Elena exactly how he feels. Love this. And it may be dialogue-heavy, but it works. It's not random conversation. It has purpose and meaning. Fantastic work. :)

One thing I love about Damon is his loyalty. He doesn't have many friends, but if he likes, he'll stick by you. And I don't think anything could drag him away from Elena at this point, so it made sense that she's still his friend, even though he's not hers. It's a fine distinction. :)

I'm actually really proud of the dialogue here. My pieces are usually very internal, with dialogue used to highlight points and used sparingly. But this just took on a life of its own, and it works for the piece. :)
