Yesterday afternoon (and evening) Chris and I carved our pumpkins! I had bought one of those cheap $3 pumpkin carving kits, fully expecting that it would suck much available butt and would break halfway through one pumpkin. I remember having a pumpkin cutter as a kid...probably after pestering my parents to buy one. I've never tried one of the kits, though. I did read something recently that said the dull knives that are made especially for cutting pumpkins are way better than your average kitchen knife, I think both in terms of ease of use as well as safety. Who knew?

I've never actually done the patterns that come with them; I'm glad they worked for you!

Feeling very "blah" about Halloween this year, which is sad, because I usually love the holiday. I haven't bothered with pumpkins or anything. I think it's just the stress drawing my focus.
