Color me impressed!

Yesterday afternoon (and evening) Chris and I carved our pumpkins! I had bought one of those cheap $3 pumpkin carving kits, fully expecting that it would suck much available butt and would break halfway through one pumpkin. And, though I had reservations about ditching my traditional "jack-o-lantern" face, I decided to use some of the patterns that came with the kit and managed to talk Chris into doing the same.

WOW.

That was a surprisingly well invested $3! Nothing broke and the tools were actually quite useful! Does everyone already know this??? Am I the *last person on earth* to discover that these things actually work?!?! Those tiny saws are amazing! WAY better than using a knife (which has never worked that well for me).

So now we have the most bestest pumpkins on the planet and I will post pics of them soon. One is a window scene with a kitty and a spider, one is a skull, and the other I'm particularly proud of......

Because it was the "hardest" template in the kit!! It's a spooky tree with letters that say "Happy Halloween". And I must admit that it *was* pretty hard. Difficult enough that once I started tracing and carving I was too afraid to stop. The pattern was intricate enough that if I looked away it was hard to put my eyes back on the right track.

Hope everybody's having a great Halloween so far!
