Let's say it's been lying around for me to watch for quite a while. Anyway, it was pretty good! Loved it. :)

As I understand it, TMP had an utterly nightmarish production history. Specifically, most of the effects shots weren't finished until the last minute.

That's why a lot of them drag so much - they're completly unedited because there literally wasn't time to properly edit them before release. It was either include them uncut or drop them entirely.

Sorry to nitpick, but Persis Khambatta played Ilia, while Majel Barrett played Dr. Christine Chapel ( ... )

Oh. Sorry about that. Definitely will fix. :)

And so well-said, seriously!

And that really would be a crazy twist. Seriously.

And I'll definitely take a look at the Director's Cut. It definitely sounds awesome.

I love this movie too. Even if I do have to fast-forward through some of the effects sequences. ;) Shatner's acting is fabulous, as are Nimoy and Kelley.
-The transporter scene. ... Not to mention Kirk's reaction

In the novelisation, it reveals who those two people were. The new Vulcan science officer, and Kirk's ex-wife (Lori).

I know, right?! :D They were amazing. :)

And ugh...that really adds a new layer of sad onto the transporter scene. Seriously.
