Being lonely seems rational no matter what, because there's always something else. Even if one is in a crowded room with a bunch of friends, or with a romantic partner, it still pops up, because something is lacking I suppose. Just my two cents ;)

As for the [sic] thing, it's kind of...well, it means "I didn't make those misspellings", in technical terms. :)
