Original Fiction
The first chapter of an original work I've been toying with for a few years -- the only way I can explain the protagonist, Avalon Foster (or "Avi"), is what I imagine would be the love child of James Bond and Bridget Jones. It's shaping up to be an adventure-thriller, I think. As always, any feedback is welcomed!!

Hi there...
So a stomach virus has made its rounds in my casa... we're recovering and I'm looking forward to being back. I have things to read, write... I got the DMC DVD the other day and wrapped it for my in-laws to give me as a gift. Not touching it until next Friday night. Can you believe the self control?!!?

I'm not a big fan of Thanksgiving. In theory, I think it's a wonderful holiday, it begins a frenzied and exciting season of shopping and giving and (sometimes) spiritual celebration. Since I know just about anyone reading my LJ is a POTC fan, I had to share this: I just finished reading Zorro by Isabel Allende (I've never read any of her books before, but understand she is amazing) and even though it's not the kind of novel I'd usually pick up (I'm more the type for a quick detective thriller, like James Patterson's Alex Cross ( Read more... ) -

I have a weakness for rogues.
Not usually in real life, understand. Just in works of fiction: books, movies, music videos... the medium doesn’t really matter.
It probably started with Rhett Butler. I just couldn’t understand Scarlett’s infatuation with that simp Ashley Wilkes, with his girly name and spaghetti spine.
