This time, I'm sure it's not the goggles.
That's hot.

I might have to update my wish list...
Please tell me that Steam Punk is coming into style? That way I can stop dumping funds into my time machine project and just enjoy current (up coming) fashions.

Yes it's slowly coming back, which makes me happy, but at the same time I don't want it to get too mainstream and loose it's special-ness if that makes sense?
I like it still being slightly unknown to the wider populace in some ways.

You should still build the time machine:P
If successful... ahhh the possibilities.

Oooh your'e right, after I posted I started doing my serious critiqel looking over it and the arm and shoulder did seem more defined at seemed to bother me a bit, I was just thinking about that this morning.
I may have to find a way to soften it, it CS it didn't seem so defined, but taht might be the way web brings out the colors more.

Yes maybe an edit is order.

and p.s thank you Chris as always:)

They are truly shoulders with which to crush whole worlds. But! Their exaggeration is perhaps characteristic of your style, so do not alter them unless they look off to you. It's a far rarer thing to have a distinct style than to master realism, you know what I mean?

I adore it, and will continue to do so whether you decide it needs more tweaking or no.

I see what your saying, and in some ways it is my style, but I tend to fuss and always worry about proper proportions and tend to nitpick details, silliness at times and sometimes very unnecessary, I think it's every artist issue.
But if you dig it and it doesn't seem too absurd and so far most dig, I'll leave it. I usually rarely do revamps, unless it's in serious need, or when in regards for clients.
Most pieces I leave be and accept it as how the flow of things are for each piece and that is meant to flow that way.

Again I'm glad you dig so much, and yes that outfit must be made:P It would be awesome to see it out of 2-d.

Fantastic! You've hit two of my favorite themes. Steampunk and airships. I'd be an Airpirate ala Crimson Skies if I had the chance. =)

Yay!!
And thank you:)
Expect a few more in this theme, it's a theme I've been meaning to tap more into artisticly, it blends nicely with my love of things cyber so, and my love for vintage. I'm surprised I didn't start peices like this sooner.
I've just been a bit inspired lately.

heheh you should check out a web comic called "Girl Genius". All steam punk and mad science. Phil Foglio does it. You'll dig it.

Yay thank you, I was going to drop her a note either on Flickr or stop by her journal. But if you already have either way:)

Though now I'm debating doing a few tweaks on the piece, a friend pointed out a part of the piece that last night in my tired state overlooked, but felt a bit off about the shoulder section being a bit too defined. And now I'm looking at it more and getting that artist-fretting syndrome I get. and thinking of softening it a bit.
Someone also on my flickr suggested I tone down the brightness of the background as he/she felt it kinda took away the attention and focus of her.
I'm not so certain on that end? What are your thoughts, do you think the background draws the attention way too much or is too bright?
It's hard to tell on my monitor compared to how others may have theirs set.

P.s I have another piece in the works of another lovely member of the band.. but shhh don't tell him:P

Hopefully that gets its finishing touches after the holiday,

I agree with Magdalene's post above. Her comment about following your own style is spot on. If, after seeing the various comments/criticisms, you honestly think it could stand to be tweaked, go for it. I'd as soon leave it the way it is though. It's cool already. It's tough, sometimes, to let go of an artistic endeavor. There's -always- something that will demand attention if you let yourself get too into it.

And I'll keep mum about the next art piece. You don't mind if I await it's arrival with bated breath, do you? I'm digging your style. :)

Nay I don't mind at all:P
But don't turn blue.. Some oxygen is good.. ya know?
Can't have you kill over cause you stopped allowing yourself to breathe *smirk*

It is a tad bit different then the above style, but thus far shaping up to be nifty.
i wish I could show now, but I hae a rule of not showing unfinished pieces or in progress.
