that was quite an arpeggio. But I could see it. In fact, I will be surprised if it doesn't go along these lines. If you look at things carefully, you will see that Booth has been hurt much more than Brennan has. But everyone feels sorry for Brennan and tells Booth to "man up." This time.

I think that attitude in fandom ("Brennan is a woobie; Booth needs to Get Over It") is a very interesting example of how gender roles can be so deeply entrenched in our subconscious that we don't realize we're not allowing for humanity in our characters.

This is pretty much how I expect it to go -- I think Booth needs to acknowledge how broken HE is before he can ever get in a relationship that will work (with Brennan, obvs.).

Holy crap. You, my dear, are a true artist. The mirroring images of body over body, one to protect from violence and the other to give hope and comfort and intimacy, both acts of love. So beautifully done. And, my current favorite thing, the thing I wanted since 100: angry Booth. The man deserves to get angry, and I'm so, so happy to see it on screen and not just in my head. You carried that energy forward so well.

Yeah -- he's stoic to the point of it being seriously unhealthy. Sometimes, in order to heal, we have to acknowledge that we are hurt in the first place. Booth really needs to come to grips with everything that has happened to him.
