Dun, dun, dun, dun...dun! (I'm way excited that I'm the first to leave a review, here, FYI). I'll get to my review in a minute, but when you mentioned that you were planning two more novel-length fics, my heart kind of stopped - now that you've confirmed that at least one of them is for Bones, I'm pretty much jumping up and down (and maybe disturbing my roommates...heh).

Anyway - this chapter was great, as usual. The new connection to the police officer was completely unexpected, and I can't wait to see what that brings to fruition! And...huge love to all of your characters. There is no shadowy-Hodgela here - they are as real and true as always. As are all of them, actually, but since you were struggling with those two in particular... :)

I'm so glad to see that you're excited for a sequel to this! I very much liked this world and the characters I had spent so much time developing and I wanted to continue on -- there were so many great things I could do with OCs and everything else.

After what seemed like a long time, she closed the passenger side door and walked away, carrying the heavy sack, huffing with the effort it took. She'd been gone for several long moments before Parker got up from the ground and approached the truck.OMFG ON A STICK!!!!!!!!! OMFG

Yeah -- Parker very much wants to be his Dad (at least at this stage in his life. I'm sure he'll go through a phase where he'll resent Booth a little for just... being Booth), and that's a theme that comes across a lot in this chapter and the next. He wants to do the right thing, and he wants to be a hero. And I think that comes from Booth -- who really has this straight-up morality about him that's enviable in anyone.

Mrs. Hoake is modeled after my grandmother, who is serious love.

Wow. I havent gotten to the end yet I am so typing as I read babe... Just wow. Booth's gonna TRIP!!!! GOOD awesome
