This was a lovely portrait of a friendship. I've always wondered how a relationship between the overly rational Dr. and the old-soul artist could start. I particularly loved the beginning with Angela recognizing Brennan's brilliance but not yet knowing how her life would be different.

Before Episode 100, I would have guessed that they were childhood friends -- but I like the way they framed their meeting, too. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this, since I consider you to be an expert on All Things Angela! Thank you for a great comment!

This was beautiful. I like the way that you construct Angela's feelings towards Brennan as a kind of falling in love - love is something that Angela is good at, no matter what she thinks about herself and her ability to live in the moment - and I love that you framed her within that and made her relationship with Brennan beautiful through it. Thank you for sharing.

Angela definitely is a natural at loving. I think she scares herself, sometimes, with how easily she does fall in love. I'm so glad you thought this was beautiful! Thank you for a wonderful comment!

I LOVE this!!!! Fic about women's friendships is pretty much my favorite thing ever, and Brennan and Angela have such a fascinating friendship that you capture so very well here! It's lovely to see it through Angela's eyes, as well!

There it is, she's gone and fallen for a new friend.

Perfect!

Fic about women's friendships is pretty much my favorite thing ever.

Me too! And there's a pretty sad lack of it.

(Btw, I adore your icon. *fist bumps*)

Thank you for such a lovely compliment!

The icon is actually a product of galpalficathon, a female friendship-focused ficathon that a friend and I ran a couple of years ago (and for which we never put together a masterlist, so I can just link to the comm). We've been hoping to reprise, but we've been super busy until lately, and right now femgenficathon is coming up soon, and while not specifically female friendship-focused, it gets a good bit of that, anyway, fortunately. But perhaps there will be galpalficathon II in the fall or so!

And yet more years ago there was the Thelma and Louise Do Outer Space ficathon.

So there is female friendship-focused fic out there, but yes, it's sadly lacking in the overall fannish landscape, which is something I'm regularly both lamenting and trying in my own little ways to correct. And it always makes me cheer to find solidarity on that front! *fist bumps back* :)

Oh, that was every so lovely. There are not nearly enough stories about these two and their friendship. I really like the imagery that you used and the way you used Angela's paintings to frame the piece. Thank you for sharing. *grin*

I'm glad everyone thought that was a good framing device! I thought about getting rid of it, but I was just too in love with the concept myself.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on this! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

First of all, I dig your choice of tags for replying ("arpeggios/sing a song") -- as a vocalist, it tickled me to read that ( ... )

Firstly: Apologies for being ridiculously slow in responding to reviews!

First of all, I dig your choice of tags for replying ("arpeggios/sing a song") -- as a vocalist, it tickled me to read that.

Mezzo soprano here!

I'm so glad the drug scene went well! I just love the picture of the two of them, you know, Sunday mornin' comin' down and still being a little bit twitchy. It made me chuckle, so I'm glad my sense of humor translated!

And what strikes me is how well you capture their voices, Brennan's literal speech especially. I laughed delightedly at the exchange where Angela points out that grad school probably ate Brennan's brain, to which she replied, "No, I still have mine." Angela: "Too literal, sweetie." Heee.

I just love that about Brennan -- that you can almost do Amelia Bedelia things with her and you can get away with it because she's just that kind of person. I mean, you can't go too far with it, but... you know what I mean!

I've always wished the showrunners would allow time for more illumination of all these ( ... )
