Prompt #4: - Make your decision and don't you dare think twice
go with your instincts along with some bad advice
this didn't turn out the way I thought it would at all
you blame me but some of this is still your fault

I tried to move you, but you just wouldn't budge
I tried to hold your hand but you'd rather hold your grudge
I think you know what I'm getting at
you said goodbye and I just don't want you regretting that

Relient K - Which to Bury, Us or the Hatchet?

Stair

She was sitting in an empty stairwell when he finally found her. She had chosen a step in between the second and third floors. The hospital was quiet at this hour and she had picked the perfect place to be alone.

Or so she thought.

He didn’t say anything right away, and instead he sat down next to her on the step. Her hands were shaking slightly. He could tell she had been crying because her eyes were swollen.

“This isn’t easy for me, Cameron.” He said in a quiet voice.

She looked over at him, streaks of drying tears on her face. “You think this is easy for me?”

House sighed, “I can’t. I just can’t.”

“Can’t? Or won’t?” A single tear trickled down her cheek.

“I’ll just hurt you.” He said, looking down at the stairs below them.

Cameron scoffed. “I would rather you hurt me than not love me at all.”

“I’m sorry, did I ever say anything to you about that?” There was a sharp tone in his voice.

“You didn’t have to.” She replied. The silence between them was deafening, but not uncomfortable. It never was, but there was always something more going on. “Make your decision, House. And then come find me. But make sure it is really what you want, because you’ll regret it otherwise.” She wiped the tear from her cheek and stood up.

His hand shot out and grabbed her hand firmly. “Don’t.” A heavy sigh and he looked up into her eyes. “I can’t have you walk out on me again.”

Cameron choked out a sob.
