Ume-chaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!!!!!! This icon is way too happy for this particular occasion, but it's the only Ume-chan icon I have. Poor girl! I'm hoping that it's just a broken ankle and that she'll be back on her feet soon. Who knows, maybe by the end of the Tokyo run? Then again, I don't want her straining herself and damaging her ankle further.
If it's a simple break, I'd imagine they'll keep her out for the whole Takarazuka run to make sure she's good and healed and then, depending on how physically demanding Dawn Wind is, I wouldn't be surprised if she were back for the show part at least in Tokyo. She may stay out of the revue, or they may make some changes to the revue so she isnt dancing too much, but I would expect she'll be back by Tokyo in some capacity.
I have to think about what I want to send her now. And I have to send Eri-chan a good luck something, which I was going to anyway but is now suddenly much more important! Eep! *clings to the whole troupe*
That's pretty much what I was thinking might happen - She may be back for the play part of the Tokyo run. I'm just glad it was her ankle and not her knee or mid-bone.
I know my brother was back up and playing soccer again 6 weeks after he broke his ankle.
Six to eight weeks is typically how long it takes to heal, the concern at that point is that there's decreased muscle strength because of the immobility from the break, so there's a much higher chance of reinjuring it due to that weakness if you aren't careful. I don't see any real reason why she wouldn't be able to be back for Dawn Wind in Tokyo though, and maybe at least do their pair dance or something in the revue. It'll depend on whether there were any soft tissue injuries around the break, since those are harder to heal and more likely to cause problems down the line.
I had a weird thought. It occurred to me that in the case of illness in Valencia, Jenn's baby got to move up the ranks, and in now in Dawn Wind, it's your baby moving up... Strange coincidence. o_O
Anyway, I kind of had a feeling that this was the case, but according to sumirepanther's comment there is a decided set of understudies for the main cast of a show, different from the shinko cast. This makes sense, and kind of makes me feel better about Alice-chan, I guess...
The whole understudy thing makes sense, because if someone was going to be out for awhile it would be less then ideal in a lot of cases to have an underclassman play a role because they had taken it in the shinko rather than having an upperclassman taken it (especially in the case of a top or nibante or something where there are higher up people who could take it). And it makes sense at this point that Tacchin would cover Ume, Alice would cover Machami and Eri-chan would cover Tacchin, since that goes in seniority order and all.

I'm all for sending her a gaijin care package.
