I've been watching too much of The West Wing.  I was trying to write Kirk just now, and all I could hear in my head was President Bartlett.  And just now, reading some Pinto slash, Zach started sounding like Toby.

No.  Just . . . no.

I need to fix this.

Maybe I should finish up the season?

Yeah.  That sounds like a logical idea.

So, um, random lurker drive-by comment to say that I totally understand-- I've been going through a bit of a West Wing revival and it's a little awkward when your inner Bones voice sounds like Toby/your inner Uhura voice sounds like CJ. Or something equally distressing.

Yes, thank you! It also makes it difficult to write when you think, "Okay, that's fine, so I'm hearing these voices instead of the right ones, I can still work with this," only to realize that you suddenly want Kirk to start talking about campaign finance and soft polling numbers. This becomes especially distressing when you realize that you don't know anything about campaign finance or what "soft polling numbers" actually means. XD

And then of course I started watching the second season, and ye gods, the flashback scenes with Josh and Sam are maybe the slashiest things ever. *facepalm*

Aaaaand now I have the mental image of Uhura doing the Jackal. *facepalm*

I know, right! Josh showing up to come steal Sam away from the ebil corporate powers is straight out of a romcom, I swear.

Also, relevant to your interests (if you've seen this already, I apologize) might be leupagus's Trek RPF West Wing shenanigans and raphaela's Trek West Wing shenanigans. Not that this will actually help with the confused character voices, but still entertaining. :-)
