Huh. I only read the Pullman series once, when I was in middle school. the impression I got was that God and the angels were bad, the knife is needed to save the world from them, and it just creeped me out in general. My understanding of theology was and still is imperfect, but the whole thing just struck the wrong note. I dunno about the gates of hell though, but I think it makes you go around the board and sneaks kids in is all.

I am trying to delete my myspace account too, b/c let's face it, myspace is useless, but it's not letting me! Arrrgh!
