well Toma moved on to continue his life outside of the game. he just assumed that if Ohno wakes up he will finally look for him and fulfill his promise. he just didn't expect that Ohno will have selective amnesia and during his coma someone's voice he keeps on hearing that when he wakes up, it's kinda normal for him to search for that voice that became a constant companion for two years.
