In the hopes of distracting myself from, among other things, what I ranted about in my earlier post:

Whoohoo! It picked some good ones. :) )

harry potter, star wars, jossverse

Who didn't used to have a crush on Michael J Fox? And what's not to like about him? *g*

But... oh. You got some good ones. *g*

Irritating as I found him throughout much of his fixation on Ginny during HBP, I still get sniffly at the end of 'The Cave' chapter where you realize Harry is an adult now (when Dumbledore tells Harry he is not scared, because he is with Harry), whether he wants to be or not.

Awww, Harry love! *hugs her w00bie*

When I heard the H/G spoilers, I was so fearful that it'd go and destroy a lot of my grand and t00by love for Harry. But it didn't. Mostly because of what you just said. And possibly because I found R/Hr less tolerable. *g*

Who'd have thought the most annoying, pretentious, wussy character on BtVS would become one of the most badass, tortured, fascinating characters in all the Buffy/Angel-verse.

Word. Just... word. And Wesley/Lilah remains one of the hottest pairings of ever.

Hee. I remember I used to love Family Ties, too. I don't remember a blasted thing about that show now, just him. ;) It makes me sad to see Parkinson's taking the toll it has on him (my grandfather died of a much worse onset of it).

Yup. Once you got him away from Ginny, when he realized he had no one else to protect him anymore and that he had to be the one to deal with Voldemort now, there was my Harry. In his scenes with Luna, his latter scenes with Dumbledore, the last one with Ron and Hermione - that's him. That's the sort of love for people that I love him for. Not selfish chest monsters (which, no matter how you slice it, is NOT love ( ... )

she's got a bit of a cruel/violent streak that goes a bit further than I would. She's not always open-minded. But she's still fiercely determined, clever, and loyal to her friends, watching out for them even

Her good points outweigh her bad ones though, don't they? ;)

And awww at what you said about Luna. So true.

back to the future:
Well, the first one more than the second and third, but they're all fluffy, goofy fun. And they are all so 80s. :D When I think of the '80s, I think of these movies. Think I may have had a bit of a crush on MJF back in the day too, heh.

I so agree. I think these were the first movies I really fot *into* - and I *know* I had a crush on Michael J Fox. I was all of 6 when I watched the first movie but I was so sure I would grow up to marry him. He he

4. harry james potter:

I've always been a sucker for black hair/green eyes too! The first time I read Harry Potter, I was like - well, he definitely has to be short otherwise I'd be hyperventilating all over the book. It was really smart of JKR to let him grow into his gorgeousness - that way I got to fall for his heart long before his looks. :D

They were definitely some of the first for me too (again, moreso the first one, but I did still like the other two) - when I found out they were finally releasing them on DVD, I jumped on it. SW, Indy, BTTF - my semi-holy trinity of trilogies. ;)

Well, that is one nice thing about getting to know a character in a book as opposed to a movie - you see the character himself/herself, and they can look pretty much however you want them to. I loved Harry when he was that scrawny, tiny boy in the cupboard, and I still love him now ( ... )

LOL!

Actually, the biggest thing I ever had for a guy was one who wasn't too dissimilar physically from Harry - skinny, glasses, dark messy hair. In RL, though, I don't know if I could date a Harry - baggage through the roof.

LOL! Funny enough, much as I like Harry, he's not drool-worthy in either the novel or the movie incarnation. Go figure. Maybe because we know him too well - we see his world with his eyes - we're Harry, he's not *seperate* from us... *thinks* But you're right about the grown-up version - too much baggage. :(

*nods* We've watched him grow up, so (drool-worthy or not) the dominant love there - for me, anyway - is something akin to a son or younger brother. No matter what happens, he's a w00bie, no question.

But you're right about the grown-up version - too much baggage. :(

Which is fine. Luna or Hermione are far better equipped to deal with it anyway. *g*

Word, word for all you wrote about HP and SW. :) As I exited the GOF screening the first coherent sentence escaping my mouth was, "I'm in love with Harry Potter." :p Not because of Daniel Radcliffe or anything but you know, Harry. Because somehow GOF!Movie Harry was so HBP! Harry and Harry is probably the only character I really liked in HBP (save the monster parts :p). And the reasons you listed are exactly why I'm in love with the character (almost as much as Anakin, heh).

And Hermione? Heh. I love her because I can so relate to her. She's me basically. I fell in love with HP when I saw the first movie and for two reasons: little Harry and Hermione who became one of my favorite heroines out there.

And I thought I was the only one having a crush on MJF when I was young... :p

Apparently the MJF thing was not all that uncommon. ;)

Me too. A couple of stupid moments like 'Who wants me to open it?' aside, I overall really like how they handled Harry (heck, the whole Trio) in this film. His sweet but inept crush on Cho, his ineptitude with girls in general, his 'saving-people thing' in the second/third tasks, his love for Ron and Hermione - and perhaps most of all how he was in some of the final scenes. Like during the duel when he's hiding behind the gravestone, Voldemort taunting him, and you see Harry's expression change from fear to 'screw this, if I'm going to die, I'm damn well going to try and take this bastard with me.' Love, love that moment. Then the angry determination on his face during Cedric's eulogy, which screams OotP!Harry. And the last Dumbledore scene, where you see Harry's face lighting up at the prospect of seeing his parents again ( ... )

I can say only one thing to most of your interests:

Word.

*g*

I may have different reasons, but I could easily have all these items on my interest list. In fact, I've added both "skywalkers" and "chosen ones" to my list. (I already had "skywalker family" there, but I figure they ought to be represented twice.)
