Emily the strange

I've never liked Emily the strange character. i feel that she is unpersonal... (and also likely because of that stupid goth-wannabes-teenyboopers love her here in this town, please do not get offended if you like her, you could not know, yes?) But now I am glad I do not like her.
She is a pure rip-off!

Children's book from 1978:

Oh wow, that's exactly the same!

... maybe the Emily-creator read the book when he or she was little and it soaked into his imagination? Sometimes I can see that, since there's a lot of stuff that influences children. (That one show... "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" looks just like the art style of a children's book artist I loved when I was little -- of course, I can't remember his name now!)

But that is a pretty direct copy; she even has four cats!

EDIT: I've read more now, the "creator" (#2) of emily strange said that someone else (#3) made the art and he asked that person to borrow the design, got OK from #3 to produce, only #3 never said that it was a copy. Then #2 got to know that it was a copy. It was his defense. I want to tell him and ask why do not he do actions by then? Of course not, of course he want to continue to rake in money. Poor defense!

Oh man! Ugh... how hard is it to make your own logos/characters? (I'm by no means an artist, and I have favorite monsters I like to doodle. That I imagined.)

I don't think there's any way to shut down the Emily Strange machine now, but I hope they take action and force them to include the creators (or their estates) in the profits, particularly if the movie gets made.
