As with the bridal showers a year ago, I am fortunate enough that there are various groups of people who desire to give Peire & me gifts...this time in honor of the impending baby. I have had SCA friends, family friends and coworkers throw me baby showers this month, and this coming weekend is the shower thrown by my fellow church members. I've ( Read more... )

As I recall, Pansy, Draco & Charlie were slated to have at least three kids -- the "spare & heir" to keep the Malfoys happy, and a cute little redheaded daughter from the Weasley line. ;)

Speaking in real life, there's apparently some redheaded background genes in my husband Peire's family (and his brownish hair gets red highlights in the summertime). My family is all blond/sandy brown. So I'll be interested to see how the coloration turns out in my daughter.

Does the wee one have any garb yet? Not that babies wore all that much, I imagine...

Technically, one outfit -- about a year and a half ago at work (Mission San Luis), my supervisor thought the Spanish House needed a little more of a domestic touch, and tasked me and the Costumer for the site to make a nice little baby's embroidered tunic & cap. We did so, and I have no doubt that once my baby comes and can fit the outfit (it's a little larger than newborn size), we will take copious pictures of me with the baby in it -- perhaps posed by the baptismal fount in the Church reconstruction for promotional purposes, etc ( ... )

How very cute to have her dressed in an Eckert College Cheer Leader outfit. Oh, nostalgia coming at me in a rush :-)

Having murals on the nursery walls is awesome! She'll be such a lucky baby! I can't wait to see the pictures.

Perhaps the wee one will be the unwitting battleground of College Warfare. My Dad was a University of Alabama alumni, and my Uncle was Auburn. I grew up getting both sets of gear as they fought between them.

I decided the battle when my first year of college was Alabama :) but then the battleground moved on to my other cousin, much younger than I.

I never really cared much about it one way or the other, but even now I get it from my dad if I am seen with any leftovers from the Auburn side.

I am Idaho Vandal ALumni at heart!!!!! How would you like to deck the young one in viking gear???
