So, there's this thing of beauty (ok, slightly cracky beauty, but beauty nevertheless) called the Sherlock Holmes kink meme. Which anyone so inclined should check out, because there are literally thousands of prompts waiting to be filled.

This.is.AMAZING. Gawd, but this is amazing. Gorgeous, for one. Perfectly poetic. Entirely in-character. And poignant, too; you had me utterly aching by the end. Just wonderful.

Thank you so much! I enjoyed writing this, but I was a bit worried about getting the characterisation and voice right, so feedback like yours really means a lot. :)

I haven't read it yet, but first I had to OMGSQEEE over Neil Gaiman, who is my FAVORITE author, and demand that everyone read "A Study in Emerald".

I will comment again when I have read the fic and become coherent once more.

OK, I am back, and I am also floored by the epicness and beauty of this piece. I don't really even have words to describe it.

SO. MUCH. LOVE.

You have melted me.

A Study in Emerald is one of my favourite short stories, so there can be no better feedback than that. Thank you for the kind words!

*flails* Oh. My. ... There are just ... no words for this. I adore a Study in Emerald, but beyond that, you have the narrative voice down perfectly - and I adore how you're able to describe a moment of extreme intimacy within that voice, the detached (at least initially) observer merely recording something he witnesses, but for all that without losing its beauty and tenderness. Very well done. Thanks for sharing ♥

I blame this story on the fact that I used to have the poster version of A Study in Emerald on the wall above my writing desk, so I stared at it every day for years and must have read it dozens of times. Even so, I worried about getting the narrative voice right, because that is precisely what makes Gaiman's story work so well. Therefore I'm really overwhelmed to see comments like yours. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and leave feedback, it's things like this that make my day. :)
