Strange things that you don't expect to see at workIt's just the one... but... seriously, it was too wierd. At work, we have one office in a big old building, lots of companies have offices. take about 1/4 tsp of crushed tobacco (1 pack of cigarettes) and 1 gal of water, steep for 24 to 48 hours (or until the color of strong black tea). spray this on the roses.

if there's a bug bothering them, this natural insecticide will help take care of it. aside from that, i'll look in my herbals to see what i can find to help deal with fungi.

Not having an insect problem so much as black spot. Lots and lots of black spot. One of my roses, over half its leaves are contaminated. My roses! (Cue wail of despair). Plus, the drainage in the yard sucks. We have standing water, about a centimeter deep, all over the lawn. I am not of the happy over that. We went out and bought sulfur, though, to treat everything. I'll live with the yard stinking if it helps my poor babies survive. Dad also says the Japanese beetles don't like it, so that's a plus right there, even if they haven't shown up yet.

Although, I will treat the peach tree with tobacco water. We haven't gotten a peach yet, they all get eaten. Which, really, is not cool. So, much thanks for the treatment. This year's Yard Battle has begun. Hopefully I'll win. ~glare at yard~

Oh, absolutely. Garden digging is an ouch. Me, I'm putting off going out and pulling out bramble vines.

Yeah, wierdness. Which is why it was posted. I needed to share. :)

you obviously haven't filched 'em off of the plant then. ;) get 'em when the peas are fully developed and they're just wonderful. :) those flat things they call snow peas... they don't really count because you're just eating the pod.
