Mini Fanmix for The Hollow

As of 2005 I got hooked on urban fantasy. It started with me deciding to read something other than romance (I was running out of favourite authors) and flipping through Laurell K Hamilton's Laughing Corpse.

Since then, I devoured all of her books that I could lay my grubby paws on, gnashing my teeth at my inability to read in sequence and ( Read more... )

From the titles you mention, I've only read the Anita Blake series. And i did like the first 3 or 4 books, but the rest of them felt like really bad, bad, bad fanfic. (That is just my opinion though. Others might quite like them and I could be talking nonsense, you know? :) ) But yeah, the whole urban fantasy is catchy, isn't it? Because, really, all is familiar, and you can imagine you live in that world, you just don't know all layers. Kind of like SPN really.

Yes! You hit it right on the head! All the familiar landscape turn alien because the preternatural monsters are real and will eat you. Yei, for escapism ( ... )

Oh i get where you're coming from, cuz, hey, I want to sleep with Jean Claude myself. And Jason. Wouldn't mind, nope, no. :)

It's just that after a while Anita feels like a Mary Sue. And a bad one, you know? It doesn't add up, at least not for me, and yeah, the lack of plot is annoying. For me.

And yei! I'm glad you like the author's notes. It's an impulse I really can't resist, you know? It makes it more personal somehow.

And yes, you make sense. Total. Heh.

Plot? There is plot? *g* I get what you mean that it feels like she writes fanfics of her own work (except she got published and paid for it). But for the pure porn factor, it works for me *is shameless*.

*Jumps Jean-Claude*

*Jumps Nathaniel*

*Jumps Micah*

Ow. I think I threw my back.

*hobbles off*

Have an excellent week ahead, honey.
