So Dark the Cone of Häagen-Dazs®

Jun 15, 2006 03:21

The first thought I had when I espied Häagen-Dazs' Mayan Chocolate in the freezer section was, "Jumping chunky monkey! Is that a tie-in ice cream to Mel Gibson's Apocalypto!?" After ascertaining that an unholy union between delicious ice cream and the obnoxious Mel Gibson's sure to be inaccurate portrayal of ancient Mayan civilisation hadn't taken ( Read more... )

I would have been more impressed if they put chili in the ice cream.

I'd so tap that ice-cream.

Thanks! Bitching about things that have failed your expectations is as fun as a planeful of snakes.

You are too, too funny! I'm fond of the chocolate-cinnamon mix myself, (but I do think it's an unpopular taste), so I shall have to try this Mel Gibson icy treat.

I like my binders to close with a SNAP! and, if possible, a KAPOW! But that's just me. Stationery products are crazy expensive now, although it does depend where you get 'em from. But $15 for a binder is just straight up insane.

I think all product descriptions sound better than the actual products. Even stuff I hate, like cheese, sounds good in descriptive form.

I think what happen is that Häagen-Dazs is too heavy-handed with the cinnamon. 'Cos I like the Cinnomon Dulce Latte muchly.

I went to two office supply stores (Office Max and Office Depot) and the prices are about the same. Now I know why people steal office supplies.

Absolument. I find that true for music as well. There are so much music that sound good on paper but not to my ears.

Your updates always make me happy!

I love the Banana Coconut Frappuccino, but I agree that you can only taste the banana. It's more like a banana milkshake, but it also makes you hyper.

So do yours, darling! I was so glad to see that the Media Gadfly updated a few days ago. It's been too long.

I wish I like the BCF, I need something new to switch around with my old Frappuccino standbys.

Get the Banana-Coconut Frappuccino with a shot of chocolate. Trust me. Makes all the difference in the world. (Maybe with a shot of extra coconut flavoring, too? I think they have that...) Although I know by now you've scampered off to have bubble tea anyway. Which now that I think about it, I'd like to try some again.

The Pepperidge Farm Raspberry Rialto cookies are mostly OK, although not great. Really, no Pepperidge Farm cookies are as great as advertised. I would be depressed, but I am busy soldiering on.

"Mexican chocolate" usually involves cinnamon and/or chilis. Sometimes I'm in the mood and sometimes I'm not, although I'm weirdly pleased that chocolate's ancient roots are being acknowledged in the culinary world. I like to acknowledge them with the addition of caramel (that's dulce de leche for the home viewers) myself, but YMMV.

And I recommend eating the Nutella straight from the jar. Mmm, Nutella.

Okay, I 'll try it next time I go to Starbucks. It's actually been a while since I'd had bubble tea. I think I'm kinda over it, but I still wouldn't mind drinking it occasionally.

Hee! Stay strong! I agree with you on Raspberry Rialto. I've yet to try Marabellasomething. I think I saw it at Target.

I had this chocolate before, and while I think it's a good chocolate, it's not to my taste. John liked it better than I did.

Oh, don't think I haven't done it already.

*hugs back*

Their Naga bar looks good (milk chocolate, curry, and I think coconut). Then again, for what they charge, it better be, y'know?

I know! $7, well, $6.99 at my frou frou grocery store, I almost didn't buy it. Luckily my spendthriftness stepped in and intervened. I am interested in Naga bar, but not $6.99 interested.
