I just heard some jerk in New England who was engaged to Elizabeth Taylor for about a year back in 1949 is auctioning her love letters to him. Meanwhile, the letter that Richard Burton wrote to her before his death in 1984 was buried with her per her request. The class score according to la_peregrina: Taylor 1, Fish who Got Away 0.

Wasn't that how Motzart's widow made her pile? Selling her husband's music after he died?

Music is one thing. Music is made (largely) to be public. But love letters? Inherently private? I can't help but be very disappointed in the man. I don't remember his name because I deliberately blocked it out.
