[He didn't know exactly what he'd been thinking, asking Roxas for this. No, the correct word would be pleading. Because he knows-- he knows from just the mere mention of one...silly word that there's something terrible waiting for him in his future.]

[He wasn't interested in looking before. The locals had told him about it, he'd seen only a glimpse-- a dusty plain, was that where he'd fought Vanitas?-- before disregarding it. Things would happen as they happened, and he wanted the surprise of reuniting with his friends, having fun without know exactly what it would be.]

[When they'd picked up his mirror, he'd been traveling. Almost recklessly fast on his Glider, and Ventus had no idea as to where he was going. The Spaces Between all looked the same. When he propped the glass frame up onto the bedside table, he was still traveling, though there was a world in sight.]

[Home. Why was he heading home?]

Hm? [He catches Roxas' words at the last minute, glancing around curiously. Such a bare, barren place... and Roxas knew it.] Maybe it'

[ The softly said words catch his attention before the expression of gratitude did, tearing Roxas' eyes away from the blank point he'd been staring at in order to look at the other. The memory is there, just on the edge of the horizon though it doesn't seem to be getting any closer. However, the longer he stares, the clearer it becomes.

But his mind is torn away and though a little annoyed at having the elusive memory taken out of his grasp, it doesn't last long seeing Ventus' face.

Once full of smiles and laughter, now looking lost and confused, not unlike his own some time back. What is it that's shaken the blond so much to resort to this? Hiding away and not even contacting his best friends before asking him along. Something must have spooked him, otherwise Roxas didn't think Ventus would want to do this. ]

Hey, it's no problem. I just don't understand what's going on.

[ He takes a second to really look at Ventus, ignoring the part of the possibility of this place being from his own past for the present. If he really is

[He's never been so spooked in his life. And it's intensely reassuring, just to have someone with him-- even more so, because Roxas understands what it's like, to have lost memories. To be left in the dark a little; but at least Ventus has the chance to catch up.]

[He hesitates before answering, trying to figure it out for himself.]

There's this guy, named Vanitas. He has a keyblade too, but-

[An understatement, when the guy had tried to kill him more than once. Understatement of the century, really, though Ventus had little idea of it.]

He always gave me a really bad feeling. Like... like being near him made me want to attack him. He makes me really angry, a lot of the time.

[Vanitas could spark serious amounts of anger in him, anger that little else, and very few others could even tap into a drop of. When Vanitas had disappeared from his bedroom that morning, it had felt like coming back to himself. Wondering why he was so riled up, even more fearful because of it. Like Terra leaving would make him lose

[ Never before has Roxas heard of something like, not from his own sparse memories nor the ones with Sora. There's no recognition of the word and he's learned by now that there are certain things that could trigger his memories, and this isn't one of them. And with Ventus not even knowing what it is, he's just as left in the dark as the blond.

But something takes its place at the mention of this Vanitas guy and the fact that the guy could induce those kinds of emotions from Ventus when it doesn't seem like anything else could do it. Is there just something about Vanitas that throws his look-alike off, like Sora did for him the first time he remembered? Or is it something much deeper than either of them are realizing.

Again with so many questions but this time, hopefully there will be answers.

Blue eyes flicker to the object they had to stop and get before jetting out of there. ]
