It's important that this year be better than the last. However arbitrary many people feel the start of the new year is, it was meaningful to me this year, although I can't really remember what came immediately before or after it. Yesterday, Eric took me to an amazing swimming hole in the woods near his mom and dad's house. We were hoping it would be full from the recent rains. It wasn't. I was awesome nonetheless.
