Lin Shang Lin thinks it is really stupid for him to fall for his best friend’s girl. He knew she would never love him the way she love her childhood friend, but, at that time, he has believed he had a shot. The sacrifices he had done, the crap he had put up, the hard work he has done for her, for the company, he had hoped all these would bring a smile to her face, like that first smile she had flashed for him when he had asked her for coffee, and that laughter, that laughter that made him go head over heels for her. But hopes can only bring man to such happiness, because the truth always hurt, and somewhere etched deep in his mind, he knew that nothing he did for Shen Ya Yin can be compared to Qin Yu Jiang.
Lin Shang Lin’s heart breaks a little when Ya Yin and Yu Jiang got together, and that kiss, was the ending blow. Being the best friend, he gave his best regards, while his heart cries out in agony.
Zhou Mi knew this whole story plot was made to mock him, to mock the current situation he was in, because he has never seen something that reflects his reality so well. As the director shouts the final cut, the whole venue was a sea of happiness as things wrapped up. Strings of gratitude and thanks were flying to and fro from the production team and the cast, before Victoria pops up, all smiles, declaring that she will be treating everyone to a meal, and someone special would be joining them. The place was erupted with demands to know who, and Zhou Mi dies a little inside, because reel life was suppose to be different from real life, but he couldn’t differentiate anymore.
It hurts him even further to see Cho Kyu Hyun sitting beside Victoria, arms slung on her shoulders as they look at the menu, and a little more when Victoria laughs at his interaction with Calvin, where he hears his best friend fail at scolding Calvin in Chinese for kissing his girlfriend, and that sharp pain that hits right at his heart when Victoria kiss her boyfriend in front of everyone else.
He remembered how Kyu Hyun had jokingly mocked him for being “friendzoned” by the female lead in the drama, for being the 2nd lead. “It’s sad, hyung,” before Zhou Mi flung a pillow at him. It took him his all to not blurt out, “in life too”.
