I typically try to keep my negative opinions of new Pokemon to myself (or at least tone them down if I do post them), but I'm not going to bother this time because this week's new Pokemon reveal has made me legitimately angry.

To be honest, now that I see a proper pic of him I kinda like him D: if it's a whole new pokemon - not an evo or a forme - then okay, I'm fine with this. (except for the sausage fingers, bleh)
But you bring a good point, all the new merch might be Newtwo-themed and it's gonna suck for all Mewtwo fans :/

...and yeah, Glaceon is by far my least favorite eeveelution too.

90% of the current Mewtwo merch is either really cutesy or derptastic. I thought this movie was going to be my one chance to get high quality, accurate, proportional Mewtwo merch. ;__;

If it's a whole new Pokemon, Mewthree or whatever, I will tolerate it even though I don't really like it. At least if it's an entirely different Pokemon, Mewtwo will still get a fair amount of movie merch.

Come to think of it, I like Sylveon less than Glaceon because fleshribbons. Maybe I should quit hating on Glaceon so much.

Aw, I'm sorry that you hate it so much. I'm actually fine with the creature itself, I'm just really disappointed that that's all the news we get. I'd prefer that it's its own Pokémon, too, versus a forme (I'm kind of just done with formes in general).

I hope you feel better about things soon, and there will be some cool regular Mewtwo merchandise as well.

I've also been pretty disappointed with the rate of gen 6 news. However, I have a variety of other series I've been distracting myself with (Fire Emblem, Homestuck, various books). I can deal with being slightly disappointed and impatient about gen 6..

On the other hand, I almost never get angry at fandom-related things, and I'm not exactly sure how to handle it. The last--and only--time I was this angry over fandom stuff (which also happened to be Pokemon-related), I ragequit the fandom and games and collecting for almost 3 years.

Yeah, it feels like an eternity to wait at this point! I want more news and details as well, but it seems like they're doing the very slow leak method. I'd rather they give us one new Pokémon and a few game details each announcement, but maybe that's hoping for too much...

I hope you don't ragequit again! Just remember, original Mewtwo isn't going anywhere, and will still have an appearance in the movie at the very least, and probably a few pieces of merch (if not more) as well.

Unfortunately, promises of "an appearance in the movie" don't mean much to me after what happened with Kyogre in the 9th movie. They hyped him up as one of the main movie Pokemon, then gave him only 3-4 minutes of screen time. :/

I've thought it over and I don't think I'll ragequit over this... or at least, not just over this. The last time I ragequit, it was because I hated almost everything about an entire generation. I feel like I can't pass judgment on gen 6 as a whole until I've seen all the Pokemon. (So far I'm unimpressed, but I do really like Xerneas and Yveltal.)

At the most, I might take a hiatus for a few months, depending on what this Mewthing turns out to be and how much of a part it plays in the new movie (and whether it "steals" lots of movie merch and screentime from Mewtwo).

I hate this new thing, it is ridiculous and if it actually is another Mewtwo then it makes a mockery of Mewtwo's entire backstory. If it is not a Mewtwo then what are you doing designers, this is ridiculous. Also it has a carry handle on its head and they can make a lunchbox of it.

Lies, all lies. Some of Glaceon's merch is pretty cute though. I really love the ippai figure and the old Banpresto plush.

The "handle" on it's head is the one thing I kind of like about it. Just when you thought this Pokemon couldn't get any more ridiculous, you are proven wrong. Personally, it reminded me of the spoiler on a sports car. Gotta go fast, Mewthing.

You mean all of Glaceon's merch is cute! Except for that ugly laying plush. I found it for like $10 new when I was in Japan and didn't buy it even though I have every other Glaceon plush because it was so ugly. And now it's really rare and people are grailing it and I am regretting not buying it to resell later haha.

The best thing would be if it were really small and you could just pick it up and carry it around by the handle. While it flailed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes the laying plush. A few years ago I saw people commissioning custom Eeveelutions imitating that plush, and I just wanted to scream "why?" The Glaceon Pokedoll is kind of ugly too, though it might just be because I picture the bootleg versions when I think of the Pokedoll.

I really do like the handle; it's hilarious. Why couldn't they have put the handle on a different Pokemon? I feel like a traitor actually liking something about this Mewthing.

If Mewtwo can just get a kuji statue, I swear I will shut up about everything else related to this new Pokemon. ;___;

It sounds dumb, but I feel kind of betrayed by the Pokemon company. An ichiban kuji Mewtwo statue is the one piece of "merch that does not yet exist" that I want above all else. Disappointment wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't expected anything to begin with. For the past month I've been assuming that Mewtwo has at least a 50/50 shot (either him or Genesect, or maybe both) of being the top prize. Just watch, now it will be Newtwo and Genesect.

mentioning the kuji statue drives it home for me.... since i always wanted one so badly and just assumed there'd never be one of a pokemon i collect...and then zekrom appeared. i'll never forget how happy i was when i knew he was going to be in the movie and probably get his statue and then he did.

i will root for it. i hope they do the right thing ;_;
