I finally saw the Avengers. Am I part of the cool kids club now?

I just got back from watching the Avengers. It was pretty great. Unfortunately I don't have any deeper thoughts about it, other than this:

Ah, I didn't know you know Princess Tutu! Or maybe I just forgot. Either way, awesome :D

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but the shipwar stuff in Korra is astonishing. It's been what, 7 episodes? No one knows what's going to happen :\

I love Princess Tutu! Unfortunately, I haven't seen it in a while. I'm hoping to remedy that soon by buying the boxed set when the price drops and re-watching it all, and maybe converting my mother into a fan while I'm at it.

You should have seen the original AtLA fandom. They were even worse.

I actually bought the box set for something like $20 all told off RightStuf recently, and it's totally worth it. I have this dumb goal of just legitimately owning all the anime I've ever really loved, even if I still have fansubs (on VHS through mailing lists, in the case of Sailor Moon movies. . .good times :B), so I was happy to find it cheap. Utena's are gorgeous, yeah, but they cost an arm and a leg.

Oh, I've seen summaries of Avatar wank. And seen the lingering remnants of it around LJ and tumblr. Really ridiculous stuff - I mean, you'd think the entire series was a dating sim with the way people talk about it!

Thanks. I always forget to check RightStuf. Which boxed set did you buy? Apparently there are two versions of the Princess Tutu boxed set, according to Amazon, and the differences between the two are confusing me.

I have that goal too. With the possible exception of One Piece, because it would break my bank account to buy a series that has over 400 episodes.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Also! You too are a Gary F*cking Oak fan? Fantastic. I'm always pleased to meet another.

Gary F*cking Oak is the single greatest blog on tumblr.
(fandom secret it was the inspiration for Fuck Yeah Ephraim, and no one seems to get that, which makes me sad.)

It's a blog on Tumblr? Why did I not know of this? I knew it was a meme but didn't know it had a Tumblr blog. I think I need this in my life...

I doubt it originated the idea - pretty sure it was a 4chan thing - but regardless, it is a thing of beauty.
