ebay and half.com dilemma

A question to all of you who sell on ebay: what does it mean when a buyer marks a payment as sent?

I sold an item on November 9. The buyer hadn't paid by the 11th, so I sent them an invoice. On the 13th, I checked ebay again, and instead of the standard dollar sign/"buyer has paid" icon, I saw an hourglass that said "buyer has marked the payment as ( Read more... )

Wow that is a gigantic pain in the ass, and if the person is doing it to weasel out of paying you... >:|!!!!!

Only help I can offer is their customer support number if you dont have it, (866) 540-3229. The options are

-- Press 1 for questions about buying on eBay
-- Press 2 for questions about selling on eBay
-- Press 3 for questions about your eBay account
-- Press 4 for questions about your PayPal account

Thanks. I've had bad luck with ebay's customer support in the past, but I guess I'll try it.

I had something similar happen like the situation you are dealing with. The buyer did send me a payment via Paypal, but stupid eBay supplied them with my old AOL e-mail addy and not my current COX one. Why, I will never know?! The AOL addy was/is no longer connect to my Paypal or eBay and has not been for a couple years!!

So, the hour glass meant that Paypal was waiting for me to accept the payment, which obviously I couldn't, for it was not in my account since it the money got sent to my old no longer used e-mail address! I messaged the buyer, they quickly canceled the payment and sent it to the correct e-mail associated with my Paypal. There is no way to tell if what happened to me is what is going on with you though?!

I do have an old email associated with my Paypal account, but I don't think that's the problem. I've sold about 15 other items in the past two weeks, and everyone else has paid on time.

Then, I hate to say it but it sounds like the buyer is being a flake! I'd give them at least 24 hours to respond to your last message then I would notify eBay. They are pretty good about refunding final value fees, good luck...;)

This happened to my friend and she never got payment. The buyer then disappeared x_x I'd contact eBay and tell them what's happening?

The worst part is that I think it might happen again. Someone who won one of my other auctions hasn't paid yet. I checked their feedback, and one of them says something like "buyer wasted my time and made me pay closing fees".

Will do. Ugh, I'm not looking forward to this. I've had bad luck with their customer support in the past. :/

Oops, I knew I forgot something. Sorry, I was feeling kind of under the weather yesterday. I'll probably send them tomorrow since it's getting late tonight (and I'm too lazy/tired to boot up my desktop). Is that okay?
