slippery when icy

I'm nervous. Tomorrow I'm driving someone else's car to work. It was snowy yesterday, slightly warmer today, and supposed to be around 20 all day tomorrow. That sounds like icy road weather to me and I'm not used to driving in that stuff. hints? I'm giving myself a full hour to get there (I usually only take 15 minutes).

driving, snow, friends

Tap the breaks if it's icy. Don't slam on them if you start to slide. If you're on ice and turn right, your back end will also go right (and vice versa), sending you into a tailspin. So make small movements.

The roads were just fine tonight. This is normal winter weather for us, so there will be plenty of salt on the roads. I don't think you'll need to give yourself more than 10-15 minutes extra drive time (assuming you don't go more than 5mph over otherwise)! :-P

My car is at the farm because I can't leave it parked in MKE in one spot for the time I'm gone. It has to be moved every night and there are snow regulations.
