There *is* less pressure with Twitter and greater freedom to wax not-so-poetic about the tiny moments in our day. Although I have friends not on Twitter who miss the more mundane and frequent LJ posting (working on achieving a balance).
I think you've achieved this balance quite well.
And it IS such good fun to eavesdrop on Shatner and Nimoy!

I often forget about my Twitter account but read the twitterings of others and often find newsbits and other useful info there, or get pointed back to their LJ/DW/problog as it were for more info.
I worry about boring people no matter where I post though since I often suffer from "why does anyone care about what I'm blogging about anyway?"
On an different note, what are you using to get such awesome iPhone pics? Using the built in camera never yields such good looking results for me.

Please carry on what your doing until it no longer suits you to do so - I see nothing wrong with how you do it.
How twitter/ facebook fits into your equation is up to you - experiment.

I do think it's a little sad that activity here has quieted down as much as it has. When I started as a mod in there were posts every day, which would generate numerous comments. That has trickled down to a few posts per month and only a handful of comments.
