more weekend and a bike race update

Feb 27, 2007 08:55

I mentioned that I had a long ride this weekend in another post. And man it was a tough one! Rain, wind, and 101 miles. The harder it is the stronger it will make me... right??

Oh, and last night I finally filled out an application for the Ironman Hawaii lottery. Maybe I'll get to race instead of just cheering for Mike! We shall see :)

My training is completely slacking this year... right now, a 40 mile ride woudl be considred long for me. I gotta start ramping up, as I'm headed to Lake Tahoe, and wanan ride aroudn the lake.. only about 75 miles, but with some hills an altitude, it should be a bit of a challenge!

101 miles... yer an animal... good luck on IM Hawaii!

we were in your neighborhood... Santa Ana bike path and all that. For some reason I always decide people I see on it are you if they have slight facial hair and are on a bike :) Guess that is thanks to the pics I've seen. heh.

wow, I'm very impressed with your biking. ever since you started dating Dr. Hottie. :) You know I wouldn't mind having Ted do the same thing, like start and finish together so I wouldn't have to feel like I'm going so slow, but he's the one that has a problem with it! ugh. Roadies. he's the kinda biker who doesn't like riding by himself. I think. or thinks if we're going to both be out there, he might as well bike *with* me. well, we'll figure it out if we are ever in the same city again. oh, and I agree on the ferocious wind and not wanting to let go of the bike! wooowee. nice job! hope you get a Kona slot.

mmm mmm Dr Hottie hehe

It was hard to figure out what to do. We really do like riding together, but he has limited time and I didn't want him to not get the ride benefits he needs. And I like learning the new routes, and we both like the company. And I can be a girl and didn't want to be taking it personally or as a sign that I suck when he would leave. So finally we figured out our plan: we pick roughly where we are going to separate, and we both know why. Oh, and I also told him at one point that if he didn't get ok with dropping me it would mean I couldn't ride with him at all ;)

oh, and we both carry cellphones on the ride so that when weirdness does happen, or I get somewhere and think I should see him, etc. we figure it out that way, and most of the time it works.
