So this weekend is Animation on Display (AOD), a local anime convention that's much smaller than Fanime but still has a lot of cool stuff. You could call 2014 a slow year for me, in terms of drama watching. A huge part of it is because I started working full-time near the end of April, which meant a significant cut in my drama-watching time. While at the library the other day, I wandered over to the manga and comics section -- which is something I always find myself doing, despite the fact that I hardly read either. I think I just enjoy looking at all the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga they have there, even though I've already read them and own all 38 Chinese volumes ( Read more... )

Not entirely sure what to make of the first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. It's kind of nice to see (what I assume are) homages to the previous series -- mysterious artifact that is retrieved by friend and calls forth a mysterious person (DM), talk about Duel Monsters cards being/not being trash (5D's), and... actually, I'm not sure how it relates to ( Read more... )

5D'S ENDING WAS SOOO GOOD.

Everything I love about the show was in it. All the talk of KIZUNA, Carly being a dork, Jack drinking coffee, Yusei's old cards, Ushio, Jack Battle, Yusei's Theme, fist-bumping, high-fiving, Yusei laughing.

This made me smile SO MUCH.

Wow, just when I thought 5D's was getting lackluster, they come out with one of those episodes that made me love the series in the first place. ILU SHOW. The summon sequences for Stardust and Shooting Star were so niiice. *___*

And hearing Bruno -- er, Antinomy -- say "Come on!" every time he Synchro Summoned was just hilarious.

Two things:

Jack, shame on you. You should've known Bruno was lying. Anime characters never have to use the toilet.

Neo Domino City citizens should invest in bicycles.
