I think that Martha (and pretty much all the women of Smallville) have been done a great disservice by the "WB treatment."
This is the woman who stood up to her father and married Jonathan Kent (and had to live with the consequences), and who took on raising an alien child. Sooner or later she was bound to put her foot down. (Hopefully on Jonathan's neck, but we can't have everything.)

I love this story very much... was rather shocked at the whole Jonathan senario... how could he possibly justify twisting fact just so his son would had Lex? I mean even to his very closed mind that was pretty low. Hurry and post more soon!

I really despise Jonathan as represented in Smallville. He's a very small man. To me he's much worse than Lionel. He cloaks his prejudices in self-righteousness and talk of good v. evil. He doesn't practice what he preaches.
It will probably be this evening or this weekend, but I'll get right onto more of the story.
