Today, after a false start involving ej's desperate need for a nap, we wandered down to pike place for a trip to the toy store and the craft festival there. ej enters the room, focused

"Dada, do you want any hot cocoa?"
"No, thank you."

ej turns almost immediately

conversationally.  "How are you?"

ej hesitates

"I'm ok dada"

ej runs from the room and I can hear him in the next room

"Mama, Dada didn't want *any* cocoa"

Mission accomplished, kiddo.  Even with potential distractions.

EJ and I went to the roof to look around. There is a dog walk there and someone came out to walk their dog. The owner said to EJ: "do you want to pet him?" EJ responds (with no guidance from me): "Hey, you have a dog. What is the name of your dog?"
