He is why I've never gotten into the show, despite my deep love for Jensen. I just can't with Sam/Jared. Ugh.

His ~horrible acting made it REALLY hard for me to get into the series, I'm not even going to lie. Also Sam's "holier than thou" attitude in the first 4 seasons or so - the judgement he puts on Dean - it's all just WAY too triggery for me.

Like Stefan/Elena scenes. Hurts in a not good way.

Out of curiosity, what makes you dislike Sam/Jared Padalecki so much? I'm a bigger fan of Dean and Cas than of Sam, but I don't dislike either the character or the actor. Padalecki's hair weirds me out a little, though.

No, seriously, I adore him. Jensen's the one I flutter over the most, but I love Jared's many many faces, and his knack for comedy - not that we get to see that much, but still, HE LOST HIS SHOE - and what I see as his knack for playing, hmm, alternate versions of Sam, and also other characters inhabiting Sam? So, like, Lucifer in The End (but not in 5.22, because that was really unfortunate), and also Big Thing in early S6 (have you gotten that far?)

Anyway. Sorry. I could not let that pass by, la la. I adore them both. And also Misha. (Actually I have stronger feelings about Misha than I have about Castiel, but that's another story.)

His face seriously bothers me. I am completely cool with the fact that it's a personal thing.

IT'S THIS WHOLE PERSONAL PROBLEM.

((Like how SMG rubs me the wrong way and I actually have to work REALLY HARD to not dislike Buffy sometimes. Like... really, really hard. I'm getting better at it all the time, I had to put her on paper and start thinking about her as separate from SMG and then I could ~deal.***))

Also - I totally agree that when Padalecki ISN'T Sam, he's pretty incredible. I'm not super fond of his performance of Sam sometimes.

Fair enough! shapinglight tried a few eps of the show and just could not with either Jensen or Jared; I think her complaint about Jared boiled down to, "But his nose." It is indeed a very distinctive nose. :)
