I WANT TO LIVE IN THIS AU TOO. ADD ME TO THE LIST.

I love the idea of stripping away what Buffy knows, the people she cares about, but her finding new people that help her, that care, and Tara. She finds Tara who gives her her latte and tells her she accidentally creating a crying curse. And then later the two save the town together, because that's what they were meant to do, and somewhere in between they fall for each other and kiss. And Buffy gets to be a princess and a warrior not one or another. And its just perfect.

And I love all the little details. Where everyone is and how Dawn got kidnapped and Buffy got in trouble again and how she thinks she should find a drummer to get over Angel, but drummers seemed to have disappeared. And how Giles left her books to read. And how Willow and Oz sent her a care package, because its not like they just forgot about her. And all of the writing is perfect and so wonderfully done, lyrical almost. And I love it

I am so glad you liked the au-aspect of it. I really wanted to consider an ~alternative to the Scoobies (bc I read that relationship as being so TOXIC for everyone) and I love the idea of Willow making the Oxford-bound decision and Xander finding a Buffy-replacement and her having to start over. And I need, need, need a world where Buffy/Tara/Anya(/Olivia) save the world and look hot doing it. Because WHY.

I love the starting over aspect of it. Because that's what happens sometimes. (Especially when your not on tv show.) And it makes sense, its not like her friends forgot about her, its just that they were on different paths, and her path was about fining these new people to help her and Tara to fall in love with and for them all to save the world together and look pretty/have pretty hair while doign it. *nods nods*

anya so ran the magic box, giles was just there to be...british and maybe have a credit score when she didn't. everything else, she handle imo.

Later, in the Silence, Buffy reaches out her hand in the dark and finds Tara’s fits into her own as if they were made for each other. They beat back the demons and Buffy screams because it’s what she was born to do and Tara fights the monsters back because it’s what she has chosen to do.I have SO MUCH LOVE for this story, Kelsey you have no idea. And so much love for that passage. This is one I go back to over and over. I think it wasn't until today that I really "got" that the scream is referencing Hush - my mind kept jumping ahead to Season5 and Tara comforting Buffy in the wake of
