Still in the Pacific NW and loving every minute of it.

How I survive without seeing Mt. Rainier every day I'll never understand. Currently 75% positive that a large contributor to my depression/anxiety when in CA is linked to how claustrophobic I get in big, open spaces. There's nothing in the sky! It's actually unnerving for me to have to deal ( Read more... )

Big open spaces are the SCARIEST THING.
And I'm so glad for you. You seem very content. <3

I just found out there's a training I have to go to in June which completely screws up my research schedule (well, that and my brother made us change family vacation dates so I think I'm only going to be home two days in June), so I'm not sure I can come! If I can, it will be the 9th-11th, and only if I get research-y stuff done. It might end up being short notice, but I'm still going to try!

The 9th/10th is fine, but I'm busy all day the 11th so just let me know, kk?

That's so interesting. I'm originally from Texas, but have spent a lot of time on the East Coast and in the Midwest. I never miss the open spaces when I'm away, but everytime I go back home it's like OMG SKY WHERE WERE YOU THANK GOD ALL THOSE TREES WENT AWAY. I guess I'm most comfortable in flat-ish, open places. Hills are nice, but the vegetation better stick to small shubbery, or at least sporadic wide (rather than tall) trees, so I can see further than the road ahead of me.

Anyway, glad that you seem to be having a good time right now!

It's funny, because I'm perfectly comfortable in the ocean with the open sky and everything - but for some reason living in a valley with only sky makes me really uncomfortable? I'm not even sure how to explain it.

Thanks! Me too! {{squish}}
