I got home super late last night. Had my first day at my new job today. (It was really awful, but I will give it another day before starting to really complain!) So very tired now, want to sleep, but will try to catch up on flist a little. There was meant to be wireless in our villa, but there wasn't

I haven't been to Portugal for something like ten years, but what you say about the impossibility of the food brought it all back! I know that I would starve if I went back there now, given that I am still vegetarian (don't eat fish at all, either), BUT also way more anxious about not eating anything ever that might have been cooked WITH meat. (Plus allergies...basically I faaaaail at normal food.) I'm glad you found it relaxing despite the food difficulty though!

When I was there I kept thinking I had to warn all my veggie friends when I get home, that's how bad it was! I am sure that there are places you can eat, but you would have to be very careful and do a lot of prior research. Especially if you don't want it cooked with meat, using the same oil etc, as I had serious doubts about the rice and chips. I have a weird arrangement with my parents re fish, they insist I eat it when they cook it at home, but I would never buy it/eat in anywhere else (unless I am in Portugal apparently) Their desserts are pretty awesome though.

i'm glad you had fun in portugal! it's always the food that i look forward to most when visiting somewhere new, but then i'm a very picky eater as well so letting that meet in the middle can get hard.

and enchanted au! omg idk why but my brain photoshopped brian's face on prince edward, especially that scene where he jumped over this bridge, started singing with an outstretched arm and got run over by bikes. lol.

I totally agree, I love trying out new and exciting food, but I do have a bunch of requirements, which make things a little more difficult.

Heee, Brian does have the right face for that, but who could we pair him with? Hahaha, I can really see that scene now as well, oh Brian.

the only skater that comes close to giselle imo would be stephane! tho admittedly i can't see him ruining johnny's curtains to fashion himself some clothes.

Oh Stephane is clearly Giselle, that was the entire inspiration behind that AU, which someone really needs to write! Maybe not curtain clothes, but he could probably fashion a number of scarves from them! :D

Glad Portugal was fun!

Also, it's good to know about the lack of vegetarianism in Portugal. Although that's kind of what it's like here in the Midwest, where the only vegetarian thing at restaurants is, like, the bread. Oh well. I will grudgingly eat fish, but only when I have to...otherwise, vegetables all the way!

It really was, though it feels like a distant memory now, what with work taking over my life.

I am the same about fish, if I have to I will eat it and I am not a super picky vegetarian that insists my food hasn't been cooked with meat etc, so I can survive, but if you are strict Portugal is virtually impossible, and if you are vegan...

Yeah, I am not strict about being vegetarian either. Makes everything just a little bit easier. Haha, I could never be vegan...I love ice cream too much...

It really does, I could never be vegan either, though I have eaten some really god vegan ice cream, it is the limited cakes that is my biggest problem, also eggs! There are eggs in everything!
